Fighting Fires in Residential Buildings: Clayton, DE
On Sunday, February 8, TT Instructors Nick Martin, Ricky Riley, and Doug Mitchell traveled to Delaware for a FFRB class with the Clayton Fire Company and their invited guests from Hartly, Marydale, Goldsboro, and Cheswold. On what turned out to be one of the most beautiful Sundays in February, there were 60 students in attendance.
As usual we had some great discussions on residential firefighting tactics & issues – fires that represent over 53% of our operational firefighter deaths. And on a lighter note, Clayton hit a home run with lunch – which included the old favorite, beef & dumplings…. And a lot of pie.

Chief Riley, Nick and Doug, thanks for presenting such a great class on a really important topic. The information you presented was very in-depth and to the point. Your Street smart approach to the things affecting the fire service today when dealing with residential fires was great. This is the second time that we have had Traditions Training put on a class for us and they did an outstanding job as usual. I would recommend your classes to everyone. I also appreciate reading the many topics and listening to the feed back on each on your web site. We can now take some of the different topics taught and adapt them to our current policies and procedures to only make us function better. You guys are fantastic, Keep up the good work!
