Newport Fire Department
Bensalem Pa.
For professional achievement in the superior performance of your duties while serving as a firefighter. On June 17, 2008 the fire department was dispatched to 5219 N. Bay Road for a reported dwelling fire with a family trapped inside. You were the first emergency responder to arrive on scene and discovered fire consuming the front side of the dwelling and extending up to a second floor bedroom window. So you entered the dwelling without the protection of a hand line and rushed through the smoke and flames to the second floor of the dwelling. You were successfully able to locate and remove four adults and a child out of the dwelling through a rear door on the first floor. It is with no doubt that your efforts saved the lives of this family. Your actions reflect great credit on yourself and the Newport Fire Department.
Frederick A. Harran, Director of Public Safety
“I’m just writing to let the instructors of Traditions Training know how much I enjoyed the class I took on Fighting Fires in Residential Buildings. The instructors taught you to think outside of the box and always be ready for the worse case scenario. I took all the information that I received from this class and brought it back to help train the men and women of my department. This class helped me prepare myself as well as my department for the actions that needed to take place on June 17th, 2008. Thank you.”
